  1. Corruption has eaten deep into the fabrcs of the system of Nigeria, with the police as the institution worst hit by scorg of corruption it has degenerated into system of anarchy, vision less and clueless order, it all started when the Nigerian police began to perform their duties outside the principles and lay down rules of engagement, it got worst with the establishment is special anti robbery squard (SARS) a unit of the Nigerian police which was established with the aim of cubing armed robbery, kidnappings, etc,but this unit deviated from the from the aimes and objectives by which it was established to killing ,brutalizing and rubing of innocent citizens,, over the years innocent citizens have been killed or even esposed to various forms of brutalization by people were given the responsibilities of protecting there lives and properties, the people complained but the authorities never cared to listen, the government choosed to play politics with the people’s complaints,,on the 2nd of October 2020 the people said enough is enough ,we trooped out to the streets of Nigeria to demand an end to SARS and police brutality, in what was raged the mother of all protest we matched out in great numbers in a peaceful protest to further pres for other demands,,,, The following demands were made
1 end SARS and police brutality
2justice and compensation to the families of victims of police brutality
3improved security, sack of of service chiefs, improved salary of police and other security agents
4full deregulation of oil and gas sector to allow investment for job creation
5 imidiate passage of petroleum industry bill
    6. all inclusive government/end to poolside appointments
7;equitable distribution of resources and infrastructural developments
8;reform is health, education, justice system
9:impressed welfare for all the citizens of the country,,, all these are the righteous demands of the people

  2. The protest was going on very peaceful for days until around 7:30 pm in the evening of 20th October 2020 when the police iand other security agents in their full act of brutality opened fire on on unarmed peaceful protesters at lekki toll gate, scores of people were killed and many were seriously wounded,,uncofirmed figures shows that about 74 people were shut dead, these were vibrant young people, the action of the police and other security agents trigerd the people and the responded in like wise, ,reprisal attacks were carried out on the police and some police facilities were burnt to ashes, cars belonging to suspected and other properties belonging to notable corrupt politicians were destroyed, some police officers were killed, notable among the police officers who were killed were some of the notorious SARS agents who were known for killing and brutalizing of innocent citizens (some of the officers were even nicknamed butcher) in all about 30 police facilities were burnt across Lagos state and 300 nation wide,In consequence the situation in the country has l lead to economic and social lock down, hunger and starvation have returned to the land, the suffering of the people has increased, people are now hunting for and scarveging for food,,We need help

  4. The end SARS/police brutality crisis has taken another dimensions, with African independent television (A I T) and Chanel’s television been sanctioned by ,National broadcasting corporation, (NBC)for their reportage on the Kenji tollgate incident, the ate to pay 3 million naira each as the were accused of unprofessional conduct during the crisis, but the truth remains that the two TV stations gave balanced, truthful and more professional reportage on the crisis ,as the exposed things the government wouldn’t want the world to see,the are the TV stations you can rely on to the the facts of the matter. Again the government want to label the peaceful protesters, hudulums,, this is not true, what happened is this, the were three groups in that protest,, the first group of people in that protest were, the well educated, vibrant young men and women, celebrates, professions, they were the group that started the protest, the were peaceful, well organized, the went about the protest with every manner of decency, mojority of them were among the protesters that were shut at lekki,,, The second group of people in that protest, were the tugs, working for the government, the were hired by the government to distrupt the peaceful protest, in oder to paint bad pictures about the peaceful protest and also divert the attentions of the international community from the main issue, they are the oenes who looted ,raised down markets and even rubbed people in the process, the are the ones trying to bring religious and tribal coloration to the peaceful protest, these are tugs the politicians use during elections to couse trouble,The third group of people in that protest were the very hungry masses who during the protest, discovered ware houses were greedy and very corrupt politicians horded their food, palliatives that was supposed to be given to the people during the covid 19 lock down, so far about 15 ware houses have been discovered in different locations in the country, hundred and thousands of bags of rice and bags of noodles, auger, salts, have been carted away by hungry supposed owners of these food items,,,This is how her low Nigeria has degenerated as a country,, state governments have embarked on house to house search for covid 19 palietives missing from ware houses,, the gorcernors have issued warnings of punishment to any person or groups of hungry people who bags of palietives were found in their houses,, this is how responsible and sensitive our leaders are to the plight of the people,, There is hunger in the land, people are dieying of hunger and starvation,, international community and well placed individuals and groups should as a matter of urgency lend their voices to the plight of the people ,before its too late (achilike mc

  5. The youths in Nigeria have resolved that 2023, a good number of them will be contestesting for elective offices, front the office if the president, senate, federal house of representative, the states houses of assembly and local government,,towards that youth based political parties are in the making,How ever I foresee a problem, There are issues of standard of elections in here in Nigeria, the standerd of elections in Nigeria is very poor, from the voters registration to political funding and the election proper,,,voters registration is usually were the problems beging, during the exercise,a good number of people usually turn out for registration, but few will be given voters card, this gives room for electoral malpractices which has become a norm in Nigerian elections, people will vote but in most cases their votes don’t count, what counts is the intrest of the power brokers, and in most cases again were the couldn’t rig may be the people stood up to defend their vote, they invite tugs to snatch the ballot boxes and course cheos,, The cost of funding an election in Nigeria is unreasonably high, this too has made it very imposible for the youth to run for any elective office,A situation were the cost of nomination forms for various elective offices is beyond the reach of the youth,it will be difficult for the youth to compet favorably in elections, almost impossible for the youth to contest for an election with out the sponsorships of a godfather,

  6. CNigerian youth and 2023 elections )£cont’d)The big questions are,how many Nigerian youths can afford to pay those millions of naira for just normiation forms ,we demand for reforms in our electoral system ,and towards that, we have resolved to effectively engage our leaders,no more politics of incentives, because if you are given incentives your judgment will be manipulated, it was better to use your discretions to arrive at your judgment, we will no more acceapt bags of rice during elections and hunger after elections,, we must not allow politicians to use us to course troubles during elections, we must engage them on issue driven arguments on policies to know what they have for us,,, The future leaders are those who are trained and given opportunity to lead not a ballot box snatching person,, we must also be integrated into the main stream of politics by giving us our own quoter in appointments and elective offices,, we must be given free fighting chances/ opportunities in the competition of tomorrow, we will continue to be motivated, and press for our demands over certain rights,, we must come out during elections to vote wisely,,,, We are also demanding a redefined political funding, political education, and also independent candidacy, which will help a lot to improve our political system,,, we must vauge for persons we vote for by making sure that we vote for people with rich pedigrees and structure, not people of doubtful pedigree, (skaliwats and scum bags) and even senators who figth for spoils instead of making laws,,we should also look for youths who by public perseptions are not in ternate fraudsters, youths who have very clean records, that way we put everything in proper balance,,,The bottom line of politics is not structure or showman ship, its about the people, and the youths have finally come out for the peopl,,,Light, housing, water, health and food are the fundermentals of leadership, The youths have come to deliver all these to Nigeria (Thank you),,,mukumba, cj
